With a medical career that now spans more than a couple of decades, Dr. Mark Dekutoski MD has had a lot to learn from. A world-renowned orthopedic spine surgeon, his skills as a surgeon are undeniable. His greatest renown, however, comes from his skill as a researcher who has repeatedly led the way to medical breakthroughs that were inconceivable as little as 5-10 years ago.

Dr. Mark Dekutoski now works with the CORE Institute in Arizona, where he specializes in a number of areas related to the spine. For example, his specialties include such areas as minimally-invasive spine treatments for adults and children with deformity-scoliosis, kyphosis, spine tumors, spondylolisthesis and disc degeneration. Prior to CORE, Dr. Dekutoski practiced at the Mayo Clinic and also served as chairman of the Mayo Clinic medical school. While there, he also led the development of that school’s curricula in orthopedics. At various times, he also has been a Chair of the Scoliosis Research Society and AOSpine North America Educational committees, and he has been a member of the North American Spine Society and Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.
